Event Details

What: North American Stormwater and Erosion Control Association (NASECA) Spring Conference
When: March 5th, 2019
Where: Grand Hotel in Minot, North Dakota

Braun Intertec is looking forward to hearing our very own Senior Engineer, Josh Kadrmas, share his expertise on spill prevention control, stormwater pollution plan and managing contaminated soils at the upcoming NASECA Spring Conference in Minot, ND on March 5, 2019. This one-day conference provides various educational sessions focused on compliance with the State Stormwater permits and local MS4 requirements.

In addition to his presentation on integrating SPCC and SWPPP requirements, Josh will also be presenting on how to address spills and manage contaminated materials during construction.

Presentation Topics

Integrating Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Compliance Efforts: During this session we will discuss both the unique and overlapping requirements associated with the Federal Oil Pollution Prevention requirements under 40 CRF Part 112 and the State requirements under the North Dakota Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NDPDES) permits.  The intent is to provide guidance on how to reduce both paperwork and the associated headache while maintaining compliance with both regulations.

Construction Site Spills and Managing Contaminated Soils: During this session we will discuss how contaminated materials (either encountered in the subsurface or generated by a new spill) will impact your construction stormwater and dewatering permits. We’ll also touch on proper notification, disposal procedures, and worker safety concerns to avoid making the problem worse.
