Scott Beadleston: Senior Vice President, Markets and Accounts
We recently spoke with Scott Beadleston to learn more about his new role as Senior Vice President of Markets and Accounts. We asked him about his background, what he enjoys about working at Braun Intertec and his new role, and his advice for those just starting their career.
What is your current role at Braun Intertec?
I am the Senior Vice President of Markets and Accounts which includes all Braun Intertec markets (Energy, Industrial, Commercial, Oil and Gas, Transportation, etc.) as well as the major accounts that are serviced by our client service managers and account leaders.
As part of the senior leadership team, I collaborate with our divisional leadership to set the growth and client experience strategy for our markets and major accounts. Additionally, as a member of the Braun Intertec Board of Directors, I strive to prepare our company for continued growth by becoming a more client-focused business that is efficiently and effectively managed.
What is your professional background?
Out of my undergraduate degree I started working in environmental consulting as a Geoprobe drilling operator and moved into on-site Geoprobe and mobile laboratory services for real-time screening of environmental contaminants before moving into project management. I then received a master’s degree in engineering management and focused more on department and business unit leadership. For the last ten years of my career I have focused on client service management and delivering technical excellence to clients and projects throughout the United States.
What interested you about your profession?
After growing up in a small rural farming community in Kansas, I was intrigued by the flexibility of spending some days in the office and others in the field collecting data to drive decisions that could solve clients’ problems. Early on in my career, I learned the importance of a collaborative approach with clients to resolve challenging projects and provide a foundation for long-term trust-based relationships.
What is your favorite aspect of your role or the most rewarding part of what you do at Braun Intertec?
We have great employees and great clients. The most rewarding part of what I do comes from connecting our professionals with our clients, regardless of geography or technical discipline, to deliver amazing projects in the communities we live and work in, as well as nationally.
What is your favorite thing about working at Braun Intertec? What do you feel makes it unique?
Braun Intertec has an excellent reputation of client service and a history of focusing on client success. This has allowed us to create exceptional development and growth opportunities for our people and our business. The fact that we are a 100% employee-owned company with such strong technical capabilities and client focus makes Braun Intertec truly unique.
What approach to solving problems for clients do you feel differentiates Braun Intertec from other firms?
We have an exceptional team of technical professionals who provide such a vast array of technical specialties that solve our clients’ needs, no matter the market. In addition to our expertise, we pride ourselves on developing trust-based relationships to address our clients’ needs rather than defaulting to a cookie-cutter approach. We recognize that each client and project has unique challenges that may require a client or project-specific solution. This collaborative approach empowers our employees and encourages them to collaborate with our clients.
What should new Braun Intertec employees know about working here? Do you have a piece of advice for someone entering your profession?
Every year we are better positioned to provide expanded services in our growing geographies, which continues to create many exciting career and project opportunities for our employees. As far as advice – look for a great culture. Great culture attracts great people, and those people will be empowered and engaged employees – and clients will see the difference it makes.
What are some of your hobbies, or things you like to do outside of work?
For my position, I spend a fair amount of time traveling. When not traveling, I really love quality time with my family at home. I also enjoy coaching youth sports and lecturing as an adjunct graduate school professor on various topics of leadership, business development and marketing.
