Roadways and the associated infrastructure require large capital investments and proper maintenance, as well as intensive planning, design, and funding prior to the actual build-phase. When it comes time for construction, owners should feel confident that their investment is meeting or exceeding the specifications required for long-lasting infrastructure. Contractors and owners use material specified for the project and need to have it tested on a scheduled basis to confirm that the materials meet the specifications. How can owners make sure that the funding for the project is secure and being spent wisely? During the construction phase, how can you verify the materials in the subgrade, paving materials, concrete or bituminous will meet the requirements?
Click on the video below to listen to Braun Intertec construction materials testing experts, Charles Cadenhead and Andrew Valerius, cover roadway construction material testing and what owners and contractors should keep in mind as they are building crucial pieces of their transportation infrastructure.
