Braun Intertec, a Minneapolis-based engineering, consulting and testing firm, has acquired a Chicago-based concrete science laboratory. The acquisition adds a Chicago-based laboratory and four experienced concrete scientists known for their work in chemical and physical testing and petrography for aggregates, cement, mortar, concrete, and other construction materials.

The deal, effective Dec. 30, 2023, expands Braun Intertec technical resources and geographic footprint with a new location in Chicago for the 100% employee-owned firm with 35 locations nationwide. The expansion enables greater service capabilities for Chicago-based clients and the transportation and infrastructure market sectors.
