Abstract: A wetter than usual spring season caused numerous landslides in the Badland Region of North Dakota, including the failure of the Mormon Butte oil well platform after thirty years of active service. This case study will detail the site investigation, design, and construction of a geologically sensitive site located on U.S. Forest Service land. What are ISV's? An important environmental driver on many property investigations and redevelopment projects is the presence of contaminated vapors in the air and in the pore spaces of soil, also known as soil gas. These vapors come from contaminated soil or groundwater and may travel hundreds of feet from the original source of contamination.
