Each year, BNI Coal supplies lignite coal to fuel both units of Minnkota Power’s Milton R. Young Station. The electricity made from this lignite is used to light farms and businesses in both North Dakota and northern Minnesota.
For the past three years, we have provided E-logging services for BNI Coal at this site. Our work includes coring down through lignite in front of the drag line and core drilling future exploratory options. Our drillers have installed monitoring wells on the property and operate drill rigs that are core drilling for lignite and collecting data related to its location.
