By Braun Intertec | March 5, 2015

Braun Intertec, a premier engineering and environmental consulting and testing firm, is pleased to announce it has acquired Minnesota GeoServices, Inc. (MNGS), a specialty in-situ testing company. This acquisition greatly expands the firm’s in-situ testing capabilities with additional cone penetration testing (CPT) capabilities, and seismic CPT, automated vane shear testing as well as field data acquisition and rig telementary systems. Herb Garcia, PG — the founder of MNGS — has also joined the Braun Intertec team in March.

“Because of Herb Garcia, the firm’s talented founder, special equipment and unique data capture technology; Minnesota GeoServices is well-respected in the geotechnical engineering community in Minnesota and around the nation. I am thrilled to add Herb to our team and expand our in-situ testing capabilities for our clients. Herb’s incomparable experience, exceptional reputation and well-known expertise make him an invaluable addition to Braun Intertec,” says Jon Carlson, CEO of Braun Intertec.

The acquisition of MNGS represents a natural extension of the firm’s long-term strategy. The equipment and data acquisition information technology systems and methods that MNGS brings to Braun Intertec are unique in the geotechnical engineering industry. These new capabilities are a technological step forward in geotechnical engineering.
