Tens of millions of tons (U.S. short tons) of organic waste are produced and sent to landfills every year in the United States. Diverting organic waste from landfills provides an opportunity to capture, covert and use gas generated by organic waste as a significant energy resource. The use of renewable energy to manage organic wastes through technologies such as anaerobic digestors is an exciting new frontier that can provide long-term benefits such as rural economic growth, land conservation, energy independence and sustainable food and energy production.
Vanguard Renewables joins Braun Intertec for this webinar to discuss how codigestion provides an alternative management for manure from farms and to reduce landfilling for food waste. Vanguard Renewables is a national leader in the development of organics-to-renewable energy projects and has received several awards for their pioneering work towards sustainability. Our speakers will share firsthand experience of how these technologies have helped clients in the farming and food manufacturing industries solve waste management challenges and implement practices towards climate change mitigation and decarbonization. Our environmental compliance and permitting experts will also share insights and strategies into permitting challenges surrounding this new technology.
