The Value of the Right Geotechnical Consultant for Your Next Transmission Line Project

By Braun Intertec

The demand for electrical energy is growing at an accelerated rate and most organizations are upgrading existing lines and building new lines to carry that demand. While the design and construction of transmission lines may look easy to those outside of the industry, the process is specialized and requires geotechnical consultants that understand the transmission line and construction process. From planning, to environmental investigation and right-of-way acquisition, design, construction, and maintenance, there are many stages to a transmission project. The right geotechnical consultant understands how these stages come together and how to seamlessly fit geotechnical engineering, foundation design, and foundation construction components into that process.

Watch the video below for a discussion with Allen Dunn, PhD, PE, to learn about the value the right geotechnical consultant can provide for your transmission line project. Allen has over 24 years of experience in geotechnical and structural engineering with a heavy emphasis on transmission line and substation project. He has worked on transmission line and substation projects across the southern United States, through the Midwest, and the western United States.
