Tracking the migration of chemical vapors from subsurface soil and/or groundwater contamination into buildings is a highly specialized area of investigation and remediation required by state regulatory agencies across the country. Vapor investigation goes a step beyond Phase II ESAs by assessing vapors and associated risks. While a Vapor Encroachment (presence or likely presence of of volatile chemical vapors in subsurface of a property) can be identified during a Phase I ESA, Vapor Intrusion (VI) is a distinct investigation, and means that volatile chemical vapors from contaminated soil or groundwater is moving into nearby buildings.
The highly experienced environmental professionals at Braun Intertec handle all methods of VI assessments, including groundwater sampling, soil gas sampling, sub slab soil gas sampling, and indoor air sampling. Our team conducts a thorough investigation to help real estate owners/developers mitigate risk of health and legal problems resulting from VI.
