State and federally funded and/or permitted projects typically require project owners to evaluate sites for threatened and endangered species. Braun Intertec performs evaluations in consultation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and state wildlife agencies to establish full compliance with environmental regulations.

If an initial evaluation discovers a threatened habitat or species on site, a detailed follow-up survey is performed. This detailed survey, a biological assessment, is an in-depth examination of how wildlife relates to their habitat on the project site. For example, reviewing how specific times of year align with vegetative or flowering stages in protected plants. Another example is tracking migration or life cycle patterns of protected animals.
